CUT MATERIAL / FABRICATION RFQ
Aluminium Cut-to-Size RFQ Guide
Create a comparable RFQ for cut aluminium sheet and plate by fixing alloy, temper, thickness, blank dimensions, quantity, cutting method constraints, tolerance, edge condition, certification and delivery scope.
Freeze the quote basis
- Issue the same alloy, temper, thickness, blank size and quantity schedule to every supplier.
- State dimensional tolerances and whether parts are rough blanks for later machining or finished cut dimensions.
- Define acceptable cutting methods only when heat input, kerf, edge condition or subsequent process makes the method important.
Normalize commercial scope
- Separate material, cutting, deburring, certification, packing and freight so supplier quotes can be compared consistently.
- State whether remnants become customer property and whether yield optimization can change individual blank orientation.
- Compare lead time from confirmed technical release rather than from an informal quote request.
Acceptance
- Check material identification, thickness, dimensions and visible damage on receipt.
- For critical jobs, verify certification and traceability before releasing blanks into machining or fabrication.
- Feed actual supplier tolerance and edge-quality results back into future RFQs instead of tightening requirements without evidence.
